Introducing FAN WEAR – a collaboration between Fantastic Man and ARKET
Right in time for Summer 2024, Fantastic Man – the biannual magazine from Amsterdam – is thrilled to launch a capsule collection of five T-shirts and a baseball cap with dear friends ARKET.
The collection happily celebrates the notion of admiration. Who isn’t a fan of something, be it the artist we listen to or the situation we’re in, or even ourselves?
“There’s a liberating unconditionality to fandom. I’ve been a fan of Amanda Lear since I was 12 years old, regardless of what she does. I’m a fan of rice crackers, good newspapers, Jake Grewal’s paintings, the shape and weight of ARKET’s T-shirts, and their woven boxer shorts too,” says editor in chief Gert Jonkers. “Fantasticness and fandom is always our driving force in making Fantastic Man. It’s a magazine about fantastic people.”
“My relationship with Fantastic Man goes back almost two decades, and I’ve been a dedicated fan of their work since the start, as a reader, first and foremost, but also as collaborator and supporter,” says Karl-Johan Bogefors, ARKET Brand & Communication Director. “It's evident that the team are fans themselves. Their ability to spotlight the most interesting tendencies in progressive menswear worldwide, and approach them with a perfect balance of admiration and critique, has kept them not only relevant but also deeply influential for almost 20 years. Given their meticulous approach in everything they do, we are incredibly proud to present a collaboration with Fantastic Man.”
The short-sleeved T-shirts that simply spell FAN come in white as well as navy and celebrate the mission of Fantastic Man as straightforwardly as possible. There’s a Mirror T-shirt, for those who enjoy seeing themselves (and their favourite magazine) reflected back at them, and an un-reversed version of the new Fantastic Man logo which finds its place on the rear of ARKET’s signature heavyweight jersey. The FAN baseball cap comes in navy blue only.
These jovial garments will be available through select ARKET stores in Copenhagen, London, Paris, Amsterdam, Stockholm, Shanghai and Seoul, as well as online via arket. com and fantasticman.com, with the T-shirts retailing at £39 and the cap at £29.
